Education and Rehabilitation
Services to disseminate the
Ladders to
Literacy
early literacy intervention
model and provide training
to eligible sites that serve
young children with disabilities
in inclusive and special education
settings.
The
project offers training
on:
- Classroom
activities designed to
facilitate early literacy
and language skills
- Strategies
for individualizing instruction
to meet the needs of teaching
all children, including
those with disabilities,
in inclusive settings
- Home-based
literacy activities for
families
- Guidelines
for early literacy and
language assessment
- Development
of IEP/IFSPs in the area
of early literacy
- An
overview of state-of-the-art
theory and research on
early literacy and language
development and intervention
